Meet the Chefs
Chef Awa Sibi was born and raised in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. Abidjan is a beautiful city that draws in people from different cultures who influence the local food scene. She grew up in a very enterprising family that taught her the value of hard work and self-determination. She would eventually develop a passion for cooking spending time with her mother who spent most of her time in the family kitchen making flavorful meals that brought joy to the table. She dreams to become a well renowned Ivorian Chef cooking for heads of states and ambassadors from around the world. Chef Awa owns Les Délices de Awa, a catering and food manufacturing business, soon to open a restaurant on the near East Side of Madison.
Hailing from Kansas, Chef Evan Dannells moved to Madison in 2002 to pursue his culinary career in a community rich with farm-fresh ingredients. Evan cooked at L’Etoile, 4&20 Cafe & Bakery, Merchant, and Lucille before joining the Cadre team prior to their October 2019 reopening.
As an owner, Evan developed Cadre through his love of French cooking with a Wisconsin flair that allowed him to celebrate the seasonal ingredients and dedicated farmers that originally drew him to the Madison area.
