Meet the Farmers:

Sarah Leong reading Mama, Is it Summer Yet?
Farmer Sarah runs Squashington Farm with husband Pat just outside Mount Horeb. They, along with their two children and pup Butternut, grow Certified Organic produce for their 150 member CSA as well as for sale at the Mount Horeb Farmers' Market and Dane County Farmers' Market - offering everything from greens to beans.

Tommy Stauffer reading Veg Patch Party
Farmer Tommy is co-owner of Vitruvian Farms in McFarland. They grow Certified Organic vegetables and mushrooms available at their farm store, online store with home delivery, and through their CSA program. Tommy loves evening walks around the farm with his daughter, Ollie, and giant pup, Kuri, munching on stalks of celery.

Alex Booker reading Joy Takes Root
Alex Booker, a proud Madison native, excels in fostering community through his work with the land. He coordinates the Black Excellence Life Readiness Cooking Series, cofounder of the ASE cooperative, and cultivates culturally significant crops at Firm Footing Farm, which he integrates into culinary and herbalism workshops. Alex is committed to addressing the historical disconnection Black Americans have with the land. Inspired by his grandparents' Mississippi farm and his early involvement with youth gardening at East Madison Community Center, Alex's mission is to help individuals reconnect with their food systems.
