The Forequarter Classic Daiquiri
This classic daiquiri recipe is so easy to shake up, it might become your go-to cocktail. It also makes us think of lazy summer evenings on the porch watching the sun go down.
Ingredients
1 ½ oz. white rum (Forequarter bartenders recommend Barbancourt rum, but any white rum will do in a pinch)
¾ oz. lime juice
½ oz. 1-to-1 simple syrup (see suggestions)
Limes, sliced crosswise into wheels
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain two times, then pour into a serving glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.
Suggestions
To make a 1-to-1 simple syrup, heat 1 part water and 1 part white sugar in a saucepan, stirring until sugar dissolves (do not boil). Pour into a hot, sterilized jar or other preferred sterilized container. Cool before using. Will keep for 1 month in the refrigerator.
