Ginger & Orange Glazed Turnips
This Asian-inspired dish glams up the turnips with a sweet orange glaze that has a slight ginger kick.
Ingredients
3 medium turnips, (about 1 lb.), peeled and cut into wedges
2 tbsp. unsalted butter
Salt and black pepper to taste
1-inch piece of ginger, grated
1 large clove garlic, minced
Juice and zest from 1/2 orange
Directions
In a medium cast iron or heavy bottomed skillet, melt butter over medium heat until starting to brown.
Add turnips and season with salt and pepper. Sauté over medium-low heat for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until turnips just start to caramelize.
Add ginger and garlic, and sauté for another couple minutes, stirring frequently.
Add orange juice, increase heat to medium, and cook until liquid is evaporated to a glaze, another 3-4 minutes.
Stir in orange zest, test for salt and pepper, and serve.
