Madison Eats Food Tours connects people with the city’s local food and dining scene through guided walking and biking restaurant tours and culinary events.
These days, there are shockingly few ways to get out and connect with fellow food enthusiasts. Enter: the food tour! Madison Eats Food Tours gives a taste of the city’s food scene through guided walking and biking restaurant tours and culinary events. Gone are the pressures of research and planning. All you have to do it sign up, show up, and be whisked away on a delicious adventure that takes you to new and exciting parts of the city.

Madison Eats Food Tours was founded in 2012 by Otehlia Cassidy, who started delving into local food as a blogger and then began offering international culinary tours before growing Madison Eats into what it is today. Local tours include, but are not limited to, Willy Street Global Eats, Capitol Square Downtown, Atwood Brew and Chew, and Dane County Farmers’ Market, all of which include tasting stops at multiple locations significant to the theme or neighborhood, notes on history and architecture, and conversations with chefs, producers and farmers. This type of on-foot (or on-wheels), person-to-person exploration, unmediated by technology, is a refreshing way for locals and visitors alike to have a meaningful guided experience through the ever growing Madison area community and support local businesses. For those looking to go even farther afield, Otehlia also offers international culinary tours to Mexico and Cuba.
So often we find ourselves stuck in old routines, depending on what is familiar or convenient, and it can be difficult to discover new neighborhoods or hidden gems that are off-the-beaten path. With Madison Eats Food Tours, it’s easy and totally worth it to play tourist in your own town.
