National Sustainable Agriculture Standard in the Works

Notable Edibles

Madison’s Leonardo Academy is in the final stages of developing the first National Sustainable Agriculture Standard, which would put a definition to the nebulous phrase “sustainable agriculture.” Leonardo Academy is a non-profit, accredited standard developer specializing in sustainability, and they have gathered a diverse committee of 60 agricultural stakeholders to create the new standard using an open, multi-stakeholder process. The draft standard was out for public comment in April and early-May of this year. Learn more about the National Sustainable Agriculture Standard at www.leonardoacademy.org.
