Cream Cheese Frosting

Terese’s favorite cream cheese frosting. Try it slathered on her Ovens of Brittany Coriander Spice Cake.

Ingredients

1 package cream cheese, (8 oz.), softened
3 tbsp. butter, softened
⅓ cup powdered sugar, sifted

Beat cream cheese and butter with a wooden spoon until creamy. Beat in sugar.

Frost cake or cupcakes when both cake and frosting are at room temperature.

Sometimes Terese beats 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract into the cream cheese and butter. Lemon or orange extract would also be excellent.
