Heritage Tavern Bloody Mary
Our favorite games are noon games, which necessitate waking up early to get that perfect tailgating spot—which also necessitates a pitcher of a perfectly spicy-smoky-tart bloody mary mix.
Ingredients
2 oz. vodka (optional)
1 tsp. celery salt (or to taste)
2 to 5 turns fresh ground black pepper
1 tsp. Dijon mustard
1 tsp. gochujang (Korean chili paste)
1 tsp. lemon
1 tsp. lime
Tabasco sauce
1/4 oz. Worcestershire sauce
1 heaping tsp. yellow mustard seeds
Tomato juice
Variety of pickled vegetables and meat stick for garnish
Directions
Build all ingredients except tomato juice in a pint glass and top with ice (leave out the vodka for a virgin mary—it’s delicious either way).
Fill the rest of glass with tomato juice and very gently roll ingredients from one glass to another to blend flavors.
Pour ingredients back into the serving glass and garnish with a variety of pickled vegetables and a meat stick.
Suggestions
Remember that recipes are meant to be a blueprint for your own creation, and depending on your taste buds and favorite flavors, you can adjust the amounts of any ingredients to make it perfect for you. Enjoy!
Tips:
- If your bloody mary is too thin for your liking, stir some tomato paste into a small amount of the mix in a separate container, then combine with remainder of bloody mary mix to add thickness.
- If increasing this mix to serve a crowd, we recommend preparing in a container with a screw-top lid and shaking well before each pour.
