Chop! Chop! New Training Videos Help Bring Wisconsin-Grown Produce to School Lunches

Notable Edibles

Child nutrition directors at area schools now have a new way to get Wisconsin students to eat more locally grown vegetables and grains.

The popularity of farm to school programs has grown greatly in the last few years, yet our schools face unique barriers when purchasing whole foods, including a lack of basic culinary skills, unfamiliarity with handling whole products, and insufficient kitchen equipment. The “Chop! Chop! Wisconsin-Grown Produce Culinary Videos for Schools” series addresses these barriers in six videos that are available online for free. In addition, the videos will be integrated into numerous statewide training programs for hundreds of school nutrition directors and staff.
