Don’t Miss Pie Palooza 2012!

Notable Edibles
Looking for some unique and delicious fun this weekend? Head on over to the Goodman Community Center (149 Waubesa St., Madison) on Sunday, November 4 for REAP Food Group's annual Pie Palooza extravaganza! Each ticket gets 2 slices of pie, a farm-fresh salad and a beverage. All pies use local ingredients and are donated by Madison's many chefs and bakers.
Since there will be so many pies to choose from, here is Edible Madison's suggested game plan:
  1. Round up as many friends as possible
  2. Instruct each person to select a different kind of pie
  3. Share all around!

Purchase your tickets online ($16), or at the door ($18 if not sold out). You can choose between four 1-hour seating times starting at 9:30 a.m.

Here are just some of the pies to expect: (note: not all pies are available at every seating... it would be far too overwhelming to choose!)

Savory Pies:
Roasted Squash, Goat Cheese, Carmelized Onion Pie
Pumpkin, Pecan and Wild Rice Mini Quiche
Spaghetti Carbonara Pie
Rabbit Pot Pie
Wild Rice, Blue Cheese, Spinach and Carmelized Onion
Leek Quiche with Edelweiss Creamery Cheese
Roasted Squash and Sage Quiche
Braised Pork Pot Pie

Sweet Pies:
Hickory Nut and Burbon-Carmel Pie
Apple Pie Pockets
Cranberry Pecan Honey Tart
Valrhona Chocolate and Salted Caramel Gateau Basque
Maple-Walnut and Pear Pie
Sweet Potato Pecan Pie
Black Bottom Vanilla Bean-Cream Pie
Sweet Escape Cheesecake (Sweet Potato pie with vanilla cheesecake layer on top.)

Visit the Pie Palooza website for the long list of bakers who are contributing pies this year, and be sure to give them a hearty thanks.
All proceeds from Pie Palooza support REAP Food Group programs, which promote the inclusion of healthy, local, sustainably-grown foods in schools, restaurants, food stores, and home kitchens.
