FairShare CSA Coalition has been awarded a large USDA grant to collaborate organizations across the country to strengthen CSA through shared resources and training.
FairShare CSA Coalition has been awarded a $492,000 grant through the 2018 U.S. Department of Agriculture Farmers Market Promotion Program for its project called “Developing a CSA Network ‘Community of Practice’ and Shared Technical Assistance Resources.” The Madison-based nonprofit will collaborate with the University of Kentucky and the Community Alliance with Family Farmers in California, along with other organizations across the country, to strengthen CSA through shared resources and training.

“Through this collaboration we’ll pool the experience, knowledge and data from CSA farmers, consumers and professionals across the country,” said Erika Jones, executive director of FairShare. “Not only will we share our own lessons from FairShare’s past successes, we’ll bring valuable lessons back to Wisconsin that will further strengthen the connection between local communities and CSA farms.”
