For ten days in October, the rolling landscape around Reedsburg fizzes with its annual Fermentation Festival, a combination art-and-food fest organized by the Wormfarm Institute. Not confined to a single location, the fest encompasses town and countryside. Classes and special events are held in downtown Reedsburg, and a driving “DTour” of the area reveals temporary art installations and performances sprouting in fields and along roadsides. It’s a unique event put on by passionate advocates for land-based art, local food and rural development.
