Paleo Mama’s New Location

Notable Edibles

Paleo Mama Bakery’s first brick-and-mortar location offers a daily selection of wholesome, nutrient-dense treats made with gluten-free paleo flours and without soy, processed oils or refined sugar.

Paleo Mama Bakery has for most of its five-year history operated without a dedicated retail space, mainly distributing their gluten-free, grain-free products wholesale through other retailers and at the Dane County Farmers’ Market. Paleo Mama owner and founder Belle Pleva’s dedication to crafting baked goods that are paleo (based on the notion that for optimal health, modern humans should go back to eating whole, unprocessed foods) and keto (which emphasizes low-carb, high-fat eating) has generated a buzz that exceeds the bakery’s hometown of Madison. Their packaged sweets can be found at over 30 grocery and health food stores around Wisconsin and Illinois, and attention will surely grow with the October opening of Paleo Mama Bakery’s brick-and-mortar specialty shop.

Located on South Few Street, just a few strides off colorful Willy Street, patrons will be able to find a daily selection of wholesome, nutrient-dense treats made with gluten-free paleo flours such as almond flour, coconut flour and cassava flour, and without soy, processed oils or refined sugar. The primary sweetener is usually locally sourced raw honey, although they do sweeten a few products with maple syrup, coconut sugar and dates. The real magic of Paleo Mama goods, ranging from doughnuts and cupcakes, to pizza crust and mini dairy-free cheesecakes, is their ability to satisfy even the most traditional of sweet-tooths.
