No, they don’t need a drink of water. Earlier this year, an anonymous donor generously gifted $25,000 to Porchlight Products to start-up Dane County’s first commercial food dehydration operation. The funds will also allow them to hire two kitchen staff members and a new combined position of kitchen manager and Porchlight Products marketer, who will help make more Porchlight Products available around town.

Porchlight programs served more than 7,500 of Dane County’s homeless population in 2012, and Porchlight Products—one of their most visible programs—provides employment and job skills training to formerly homeless men and women living with mental or physical disabilities. More than 75 percent of their ingredients are locally- and sustainably-sourced.
