There’s enough food, drink, music and other activities to do in the Stevens Point area that you could fill a couple weekends around this lively city.
University cities tend to have a lot to offer even nonstudents, and Stevens Point is no exception. There’s enough food, drink, music and other activities to do in the area that you could fill a couple weekends in this lively city. A particular attraction is the area’s craft brewing scene, which has expanded to now include two wineries and a distillery: Stevens Point Brewery, O’so Brewing Company, Central Waters Brewing, Great Northern Distilling, Sunset Point Winery and Kozy Yak Brewery Winery. For winter getaways, you can enjoy excellent libations, conversation and often music at these locations, which are all members of the Central Wisconsin Craft Collective. For food, opt for local eateries by the river, away from the interstate. If you plan a summertime getaway, Stevens Point and surrounding towns are all within biking distance for the moderately experienced cyclist.
Visit the Central Wisconsin Craft Collective’s website for a list of the locations, a map and dining guide. Kick cabin fever to the curb.
