Details

Raspberries come in red, black, purple and yellow. Red raspberries are the most common and are grown in the Pacific Northwest and shipped around the country; however, raspberries do grow very well in our Wisconsin region. Local berries will have the ability to be picked at their peak freshness, not to mention, if they are in your own backyard, you control whether chemicals are sprayed on them.

If purchasing raspberries at the market, check in the “receptacle” (the hole on top) to see that there is no mold. Also be sure the berries haven’t been crushed.

Nutrition: Raspberries are rich in vitamin C and have been scientifically shown to have anti-cancer, antibacterial and anti-viral properties
